- Antonia Rubinstein Review added: 2018.04.16★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆The first impression when calling a council that serves a community as large as Eastbourne and Lewes is key. The EL switchboard service needs an urgent review. Extensions for all staff checked as many are no longer in service. Being left on hold or cut off ... infuriates rate payers/residents very quickly. This in turn puts more pressure on council workers who are dealing with an increased work load and tightened resources. They aren't to blame for this and angry residents who are frustrated by the terrible telephone system just makes the overall situation of sorting out a problem or answering a question much much worse.
